It's sad what they've done to Doran's Blade in Season 3. They were so nice items to stack on ADC or top bruiser and now...

Pretty much all "Doran's" items are great starters, as they give effects that are compatible for the champion(s) they are recommended for, and they all cost a cheap 475 gold, the amount that all champions start out with in Classic..

Nah. Best item for bruisers against a double AP comp. Buy two of these on your first back.

100 HP - half of Ruby Crystal (475 g). 237 g.
10 Damage - like Long Sword. 415 g.
3% Lifesteal - 30% of Vampiric Scepter (450 g). 135 g.
237+415+135=787g, and we need to pay only 475 g.
So we econom 787-475=312 g. Or 1.66 times.
